This Aged Care Employee Day, we proudly recognise and celebrate the remarkable people whose compassion, dedication and professionalism enrich the lives of our residents each and every day. Their work extends far beyond providing care. They build relationships, create moments of joy and give families confidence that their loved ones are supported by people who genuinely care.
At Belvedere, we often say that our people are our greatest strength.
Many of our employees have been part of the Belvedere family for 10, 15 and even 20 years. Their long service creates something truly special for residents and families: familiar faces, trusted relationships and a deep understanding of each resident’s individual story, preferences and needs. This continuity of care brings comfort, confidence and a genuine sense of belonging. Such qualities cannot be measured but are deeply felt by everyone who walks through our doors.
As a family-owned aged care home, we believe caring for our employees is just as important as caring for our residents. We are committed to creating meaningful career pathways by investing in education, mentoring and professional development. One person who beautifully reflects this commitment is Milyn.
Thirteen years ago, Milyn joined Belvedere as our Laundry Assistant. Driven by her passion for caring for older people, she embraced opportunities to learn, completing her training as a Personal Care Assistant before achieving her Diploma in Leisure and Lifestyle. Today, she is one of our cherished Lifestyle Coordinators, bringing warmth, creativity and infectious enthusiasm to every resident she meets.
Whether leading music sessions, encouraging reminiscence, facilitating creative activities or simply sharing a laugh over a cup of tea, Milyn has a gift for helping residents feel seen, valued and connected. Her journey is a wonderful example of what can happen when passion is supported by opportunity. It also reflects Belvedere’s commitment to recognising potential, nurturing talent and helping people build meaningful careers.
This Aged Care Employee Day, we extend our heartfelt thanks to every member of the Belvedere team. From our nurses and personal care assistants to our lifestyle team, hospitality, kitchen, laundry, maintenance, administration and support staff. Every role matters. Every person makes a difference.
