Mother’s Day Celebrations started with deliveries of Fresh Flower arrangements for all our residents and throughout the facility. We asked our residents what their favourite plants and flowers are and we arrived to a selection of arrangements of roses and tulips throughout the facility. It was a beautiful sight to see the Kate Hill Flower Delivery Van arrive with all the arrangements!
In anticipation of this special day, the Lifestyle Program focused on Mother’s Day. The topical discussion Activity focused on “mothers.” Fond memories were shared within the group, reminiscing on songs, food, the way they were cared for and brought up and how the residents then developed their style of motherhood. Mothers were described with full admiration and love. Some residents brought gifts their mother had given them. They enjoyed cups of tea with delicious butterfly cupcakes. Residents were asked to create their own special Mother’s Day Menu.
Mother’s Day celebrations started on Saturday 9th May with entertainment by Tom Aiono. The music bought back a lot of memories of their dancing days. They clapped, swayed and danced to the music. Entertainment carried on throughout lunch which added a fantastic mood.
