Italian National Day Celebration is a highlight of the Belvedere Social Calendar. Each year, on the 2nd of June we honour our Italian Community by celebrating this important event.
The COVID pandemic and restrictions over the last 2 years interrupted our usual festive family celebrations but this year, residents were treated to a beautifully decorated facility set up in an Italian theme and freshly prepared Italian food by our Chef Raj. Our residents enjoyed an Italian-themed Afternoon Tea featuring live music and a beautiful celebratory cake. Dinner was a buffet style feast featuring favourites such as Lasagna, Foccacias, Pizzas, Italian breadsticks and their favourite desserts.
Like Italian National Day Celebrations back home in Italy, music, food, fun and friendship were the highlight of the day. Our residents enjoyed dancing the afternoon away to their favourite Italian songs and all were welcome to participate allowing new friendships and connections to form between residents. The day was a wonderful success filled with fun and laughter. We thank our wonderful Team – our chef, Lifestyle Team Karin and Milyn and our volunteers for assisting throughout the day.
