An Update on Belvedere Aged Care’s COVID-Cluster, Friday 5th November

Since our last update on Sunday 31st October, regular PCR testing of residents and staff detects no new cases of COVID-19 at Belvedere. Reassuringly, we continue to follow the Public Health Unit directives for clearance that requires 2 more PCR tests for residents over the coming days to finalise our full facility clearance requirements.

When we do reopen, we look forward to welcoming families and our resident’s loved ones back onsite for visitations. There remains a significant risk of COVID transmissions in the wider community and to protect our vulnerable residents, all visitors will be required to follow the CHO’s care guidance for visitations to residential aged care facilities.

We are delighted with the progress of our residents and many have engaged with our interim lifestyle activities for mental and emotional wellbeing. Our familiar volunteers have recommenced invaluable creative stimulation of our arts and crafts programs and spiritual connections via virtual contact. A big thank you to our volunteers for their time and provision of our arts and craft supplies.

We are truly grateful for the ongoing support families have shown to all Belvedere staff during our facility outbreak. It has been a challenging few weeks but, our highly courageous and committed team have shown absolute resilience and determination to ensure the highest level of care and nurture to all residents during this period. Thank you.

We look forward to providing a final update and returning to onsite visitation shortly.
