As part of our commitment to Continuous Improvement and Research, Belvedere Aged Care will be participating in the National Aged Care Quality Indicator Program Pilot. The Pilot seeks to investigate and gather feedback from staff and services on the indicators for Aged Care. The pilot is being managed by KPMG for the Department of Social Services. KPMG will analyse data and we will receive an individual report summarising results for the facility.
The first stage will gather information on Pressure Injuries, Unplanned Weight Loss, Physical Restraint and Quality of Life/Consumer experiences indicators. Pilot information will not be published, however, when it is fully implemented, and the data is established as robust and reliable, quality indicator information will be published on My Aged Care. This will provide publicly accessible information on the quality of care and services of the facility. The indicators will help individuals make informed choices about care options. The Quality Indicator Programme is expected to enhance existing quality improvement programmes.
The pilot will run from May 2015 to September 2015 and will involve the collection of information about pressure injuries, use of physical restraint and unplanned weight loss. Our staff will be provided information and training prior to starting the pilot.
Please note the information that is collected will not identify any residents and will not disrupt the quality of care received.
KPMG are supporting homes participating in the pilot. They can be contacted on 1800 881 436 or email FMACQIS@kpmg.com.au.
