Aged Care Heroes – Thanking our Environmental Services Team

Belvedere would like to express our deepest thanks to our Environmental Services team who has continuously supported and elevated Belvedere to a welcoming, safe and hygienic environment that we are so proud of. Whilst it’s taken a pandemic for many to see the important work essential workers like cleaners do, we at Belvedere have always respected and taken great pride in the work this team does. Thank you for continuously delivering such an important service for residents, staff and visitors to our facility and in helping us consistently achieve our full accreditation outcomes.

Belvedere’s Environmental Services team is headed up by Charles from Accredited Aged Care Solutions. COVID-19 has demanded a lot from our team with the risk of infection to our residents and staff dire. With Charles’ leadership, the environmental services team has delivered diligent, detailed cleaning resulting in a safe and welcoming environment that has reassured and protected our residents, staff and visitors. We are proud of the team’s achievements in meeting quality standards and audits demonstrating the team’s comprehensive training manuals for cleaning staff. We involve the voice of our Environmental Service Manager within our multidisciplinary senior leadership meetings. Also included in resident meetings, this has resulted in in-depth strategies and protocol development and planning that compliment Belvedere’s holistic care approach and encourages the agency of each resident.

Right now, as our facility continues to operate in a period of restricted access due to the COVID-19 pandemic, our environmental services team has left no stone-unturned keeping furniture, fittings and equipment clean and well maintained. Reducing the risk of infection and transmission is paramount and the team are meticulous and working tirelessly to ensure this.

It is well overdue for the community to recognize the work and commitment of our essential workers. As life around us slowly returns to normal, with COVID-19 restrictions easing throughout the community, we sincerely hope that the public continues to value the important work cleaning staff do in reducing and minimizing the risk of infections in our daily lives whether it be in the office, in public areas or within their own homes. The individuals who undertake such tasks place their lives on the line to protect communities and we must show them thanks and gratitude more than ever.
